A woman was killed in Karachi, allegedly for 'honour', by her father and brother who had 'suspicions about her character', police told DawnNews on Monday.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) City Adeel Hussain said the victim's family had initially attempted to cover up her death, claiming she committed suicide by hanging herself early Monday morning in her home in the Kemari area.
After a post-mortem examination, however, police took her brother, Nabeel, and father, Ghulam Nabi, into custody, after which they confessed to strangling her to death over 'suspicions about her character', the SSP said.
Further investigation into the murder is underway, police added.

Frankly, the frequency of such sad incidents in this country increasing by the day, one tends to think it is not even newsworthy anymore. Just another day in this poor country.

It's not worth mentioning now in national newspapers.... as it's become a daily affair... sad but true. Change in mentality needed.... all the best.

@Falcon1 Nothing is worse than showing disdain to this crimes. How can our country change if we lack empathy. No, these crimes MUST be reported. Not for the criminals, but for the victim.

Very disturbing trend! We must sit together and find the root causes of such very frequent so called honor killings. The fault lies in rapid the loss of temperaments in the people and equally, the ease of promiscuity through smart phone proliferations.

If these savages in our society feel that their work is righteous then why do they always attempt to cover their tracks and hide their deeds? They know it's wrong and this is nothing but a premeditated murder.
