SIALKOT: A group of lawyers on Tuesday stormed the land revenue record centre in Pasrur and beat officials and ransacked the furniture.

Reports said some lawyers visited the centre for transfer of the record of properties and the officials pointed out anomalies which the advocates resented.

The lawyers locked the doors of the centre and beat officials besides ransacking the furniture and official record.

They fled after alleged hooliganism for half an hour or so leaving Mohsin (data entry operator) and Mudassar Ali injured.

The revenue department employees went on strike to lodge their protest against the incident and demanded early registration of a case against the suspects.

INCOMPLETE PROJECT: The road in front of the main gate of Allama Iqbal Library remains dug up for more than one month.

The Municipal Corporation had dug up the road in front of the main gate of the library for rectifying the clogged sewerage system but it has failed to complete the job even after more than a month.

As people face a great deal of inconvenience, social circles have demanded early completion of the project. They have urged Commissioner Muhammad Asif, Deputy Commissioner Dr Asif Tufail and other functionaries to look into the matter.
