GUJRANWALA: An official team arrested the manager and assistant manager of a marriage hall for one-dish law violation and fined the owners Rs2 million.

On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Aamir Jan, a team headed by City Assistant Commissioner Adnan Shahzad raided the Ventures Marriage Hall on GT Road where guests were being served with multiple dishes.

The assistant commissioner told Dawn that the manager and the assistant manager were arrested and handed over to Sabzi Mandi police. The team imposed a fine of Rs2m on the owners. The district government has meanwhile sealed Faisal and Chaudhry theatres for indecent content in their shows.

The administration also banned stage rehearsal at Roxy and Punjab theatres for violating the code of conduct.
