LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Anti-corruption Unit which was due to travel to London to interrogate Nasir Jamshed for his role in the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixing scam is yet to depart for England.

There were reports that the ACU would be in London from April 3-8 but well-placed sources have told Dawn that the visit hasn’t been possible as they haven’t been able to set a date with the discarded Test batsman Nasir.

“The unit will go to London after finalising a date to meet Nasir,” a PCB official said, seemingly negating the possibility of the ACU questioning him through a video link.

Nasir, alongside four other cricketers namely Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Shahzaib Hasan and Mohammad Irfan, was implicated in the PSL fixing scandal.

While Irfan has confessed that he failed to inform the PCB after some bookies made contact with him, Sharjeel, Khalid and Shahzaib are contesting their cases which have been referred to the PCB tribunal headed by Jusitce (retd.) Asghar Haider.
