KARACHI: Raza Sawani beat Amin Shafi 6-3, 6-0 while Sahabzada Ali outplayed Zubiar Raja 6-3, 6-0 to reach the final of the Under-18 category in the 1st McDonald’s National Juniors Tennis Champ­ionship here at Karachi Gymkhana on Monday.

In the U-16 category semis, Noor-e-Mustafa got past Amin Shafi 6-3, 6-1 while Zubair Raja edged Muja­h­idullah Khattak 6-3, 6-3.

In the U-14 category, Rayyan Jawwad beat Mahatir Mohammad and Aashish Kumar got the better of Yahya Ethasham in the semi-finals to set up an exciting final which will be played on Tuesday.

In the U-12 boys category, Taha Amman outplayed Hassan Jamal to reach the final.

The closing ceremony of the tournament will be held on Tuesday at 6:30pm.

Juniors U-18 (semi-finals): Raza Sawani bt Amin Shafi 6-3, 6-0; Sahabzada Ali bt Zubiar Raja 6-3, 6-0

Boys U-14 (semi-finals): Rayyan Jawwad bt Mahatir Mohd 6-2,7-5; Aashish Kumar bt Yahya Ethasham 6-2, 7-5

Boys U-12 (semi-finals): Taha Amman bt Hassan Jamal 6-0,6-0

Boys U-10 (semi-finals): Nadir Mirza bt Yahya Ahsan 4-0, 4-0; Zain Ethasham bt Abdullah Imran lLya 4-2, 4-1

Girls U -12 (quarter-finals): Varisha Khan bt Amna Osman Siddqui 6-4,6-3; Zara Fozal bt Ayma Osama Khan 6-0.6-0

Junior U 16: (semi-finals) Noor-e-Mustafa bt Amin Shafi 6-3,6-1Zubair Raja bt Mujahidullah Khattak 6-3,6-3.
