LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate Naseem Zehra on Sunday won the by-election in Cantonment Board Ward-6 with a clear lead. The seat had fallen vacant following the death of PTI member Taimoor Akhtar who had won election from the ward.

PTI spokesman says Naseem Zehra defeated PML-N candidate Farooq Zamir with a margin of 760 votes. Soon after the announcement, the party leaders and workers celebrated the success with bhangra on drum beats and distributing sweets.

OPPOSITION LEADER: Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed says the last week of this month will be very tough for the rulers. Regardless of the decision in Panamagate case, he said, the rulers had been exposed before the nation.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, Mr Rasheed said the Supreme Court decision on the Panama case was expected next week and the PTI would accept its decision. He said the party would approach the masses for its election campaign.
