Hadiqa’s Wajd

She’s back, and back with spiritual zest. The reference is to Hadiq Kiani’s album Wajd — Volume 1 which has recently been launched. As can be gauged from the title of the project (wajd means ecstasy in Urdu), it has eight tracks composed to ‘revive and preserve the region’s core musical heritage.’

Produced, mastered and mixed by the singer’s brother Irfan Kiani, the songs have been recorded in a live-studio format and there’s no ‘digital post insertion’ to give the listeners a more ‘organic and majestic resonance’. Hadiqa’s fans are already ecstatic.
