Unidentified assailants on Friday evening gunned down two police officials in Punjab's Kasur district, reported DawnNews.
The officials were on a routine patrol when they gestured two unidentified men on a motorcycle to stop in the area for checking.
However, the men resisted and opened fire on the officials. The police officials succumbed to their wounds while being transported to a local hospital.
The assailants remain at large and further investigation is underway by the local police.
