Women’s judo commences

PESHAWAR: Inter-college Women Judo Championship under the aegis of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University got under way here at the Larrama Campus on Tuesday.

The championship is being played in eight different weight categories including 40kg, -44kg, -48kg, -52kg, -57kg, -63kg, 70kg and open with players from seven colleges taking part in the event.

On the opening day, competitions were held in 40kg, -48kg and 52kg weight categories in which Nowshera College claimed two gold and one silver medals while Government Girls Degree College, Charrgher Matti bagged one gold, one silver and a bronze medals while Shaheed Benazir Bhutto took one gold and one bronze medals respectively.

The closing ceremony of the championship will be held on Wednesday.
