PESHAWAR: A five-day anti-polio campaign in Khyber Agency and Wana subdivision of South Waziristan Agency will start today (Monday), Emergency Operations Centre, Fata, said in a statement here on Sunday.

The statement said that about 225,000 children below the age of five years would be vaccinated in Khyber Agency, for which 791 mobile, 52 fixed and 26 transit teams have been set up. The South Waziristan administration has constituted 44 mobile, 20 fixed and eight transit teams for vaccinating 72,202 children in Wana subdivision. The statement said the campaign was postponed for a week in these areas due to the ongoing community mobilisation and validation of micro-plans.

It said that all the arrangements had been finalised for the campaign and health teams were ready to reach out to every child, adding concerned political administrations and security forces would provide full assistance and protection to the health teams.
