It is really a matter of shame for PPP to send Mr. AD Khawaja on forced leave, whose honesty and integrity is beyond doubt. Mr. Khawaja was probably not accepting illegal orders of PPP Jiawals, especially in the matters related to the transfers, postings and recruitment, therefore, he was a person non-grata for the Sindh Government. I suggest that the Govt. of Pakistan must hold its sway on some important positions in the provinces, such as Governor, Chief Secretary, IG Police and etc., so that the governance could be streamlined equally in all four federating units of the State.

Appointments and removals may be the government's prerogative . But why use it to please or favour some one's personal interests ? Governments are supposed to work for the public , not for individuals or a particular group .

Please upgrade all the Colleges and begin the night classes for the '2 year Computer Science Diploma,' where ever it is possible. Pakistani youth is very talented, sharp and hardworking. You have to do your job and provide them the right environment so they can lead this country towards its ultimate goal- Prosperity. If the Son of a Dhobhi in a Mumbai's Dhobhi Ghat can earn his 4 year Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, why can't the youth of Liyari and Omerkot even get the Diploma in it? Under ppp leadership i never observed any developement in sind during my life time.This is very unfortunate.

It is time to change the system, police should be localized; main problem in Sindh is out of province police. CM should have the powers to remove IGs.

I am not a PPP supporter.But agree with CM that it is the prerogative of the government to appoint anyone as an IG Sind.But then is it also not mandatory to take all the responsibility of the law and order situation in the province? Plus this argument that the present situation in Karachi is all as a result of the afghan war and to dump it at the door of Zia who died 3 decades ago is all not right.Rangers presence in Karachi is a testimony of failure of the provincial government.

Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali Shah says "It's our prerogative to remove or reinstate anyone". Yes, it is, but it should be based strictly on merit, proper selection procedure according to the requirements. Rules and regulations must be followed for all and justice done. Sindh government's record unfortunately shows just the opposite. Appointments and postings are done for political considerations. People who don't qualify are given jobs. Merit and rules are flouted. This is the reason Supreme Court declared failure of governance in Sindh. We demand action against those who abuse laws.

This is disgusting. What democracy these people talk. They do not have any democracy within their party. They love corruption. Pakistani people are foolish to elect such corrupt people again and again.

The important thing to know is that he got in trouble because one of Zardari's friend who actually runs the Government of Sind was not happy with IG and he flew down to Dubai and made sure IG is gone so he can do what ever he wants to do.

That is the reason Singh govt refused to follow police order 2002 and replaced with British era police order of 1857. Only 2 provinces are following police order 2002,Punjab and KPK. Police order says IGs cannot be replaced before 3 years. Beside, ex IG Sind was removed because he recruited 10,000 policemen on merit and 10,000 more under process. Beside, he made lot of improvement including raising the moral of police force. He also defroze police welfare fund and raised compensation also. HewW's becoming very popular and as an honest man. Sind govt does not need honest hard working man only YES SIR person.

For the government to function properly, there needs to be checks and balances as well as public oversight - both do not exist which is unfortunate. The CM of the province has too much unaccountable power and so does the Police and other governmental departments - The public continues to suffer!

Although it's provincial governments prerogative however the decisions must comply with principles of natural justice (you have to be fair and seen to be fair).
