OKARA: The PML-N has nominated candidates for district council and municipal committee chairmen and vice chairmen slots and it is likely to win the election on all seats except in the municipal committee of Renala Khurd where the PPP is dominant.

In the district council, the PML-N parliamentarians group led by MNA Ch Nadeem Abbas Rubera has fielded Malik Ali Qadir as a candidate for the seat. For the two seats of the vice chairmen, Sabahat Nawaz Khan of MNA Mian Moeen Wattoo group is in the contest and the second ticket is yet to be awarded by MNA Rao Ajmal Khan group.

In the Okara municipal committee, the party has nominated MNA Riazul Haq Juj’s cousin Ch Muhammad Azhar for chairmanship and the local party councilors will nominate the candidate for vice chairman slot out of Sheikh Liaqat Ali and Yasir Qadri.

For the municipal committee of Basirpur, Mian Inam Rasool and Mian Basharat Ali Chachar are in the contest for chairman and vice chairman election, respectively.

In Dipalpur municipal committee, Fakhar Masood Bodla has been nominated for chairman while the candidate for vice chairman is yet to be decided.

The independent group of the Renal Khurd, which has got 13 out of 18 councilor seats, has joined the PPP and it has nominated Malik Tariq Javed as its candidate for chairman and Naeem Kamyana as the vice chairman.

For municipal committee in Hujra Shah Muqeem, Makhdoom Zulfiqar Haider Gillani has been nominated for chairman seat while Syed Ejaz Ali Shah or Haji Mehboob Elahi Mehar will be nominated as vice chairman.

For the Haveli Lakha, two panels of the PML-N are in the contest. One group has nominated Shoaib Qadir and Hanif Rehmani as its candidates for chairman and vice chairman, respectively while the second panel has fielded Tahir Rasool Maneka and Malik Nisar Ahmad.
