MIANWALI: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in Mianwali claims to have traced a fake arms licences scam and arrested four employees of the DCO office.

On persistent complaints, the ACE Punjab director general directed the authorities in Sargodha region to investigate an alleged scandal of fake arms licences’ issuance at the licence branch of the DCO office, Mianwali.

Circle officer Asmatullah Bandyial conducted the investigation and found out that countless arms licences had illegally been issued from the DCO office. He impounded record and had clerks Mohammad Ramzan Jani, Mohammad Akram and Ashraf and Naib Qasid Adil Shah arrested.

It is learnt that Malik Naveed and another clerk, Malik Mohammad Fayyaz, who are also involved in the scam, are still at large.

During computerisation process of arms licences, Nadra officials also pointed out fake licences but no notice was taken.

PRISONERS: The inmates in 14 jails of Punjab will be provided technical education to enhance their skills under a project at a cost of Rs280 million.

This was stated by Mian Farooq Nazir, Inspector General Prisons Punjab, during inauguration of Teveta centre at the Central Jail.

He also said a public call office would be established in the jail to facilitate the inmates. He announced installation of two filtration plants for prisoners and construction of 28 residential quarters.
