RAWALPINDI, Dec 15: A shopkeeper was shot dead by an unidentified motorcycle rider in Pirwadhai on Sunday night, while a pedestrian was killed in a road accident in Westridge, police said.

Ansar Ahmed was parking his car (FDO-8030) outside his house when an unidentified motorcycle rider shot him, killing him on the spot.

Quoting Ahmed’s wife, the police said they had no enmity with anyone. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem.

A pedestrian was killed while another was injured after being hit by a cab near Kohinoor Colony, Westridge, police said.

Mohammad Miskeen lodged a complaint with the police saying that he along with Mohammad Zaman, Ehsan and Rizwan were crossing the road when a cab (RIG-7612) hit Rizwan and Ehsan and drove away. Rizwan died on the spot while Ehsan was injured critically.

Meanwhile, two robbers stormed the house of Mohammad Latif in Westridge and looted Rs94,000 at gunpoint from the inmates and escaped, police said on Monday.

Mohammad Latif, the robbery victim, lodged a complaint with the police saying two persons entered his house and held the inmates at gunpoint and forced them to give up cash.
