MARDAN: Father of two 8th grade students has demanded of the authorities concerned to take stern action against a teacher of government middle school, Biligar, for subjecting his sons to severe punishment. He said that torture marks were visible on the bodies of his sons.

Talking to media persons at the Mardan Press Club on Saturday, Abdullah Khan said that his sons were severely beaten up by their teacher identified as Syed Zaman.

He said that his wife fell unconscious when she saw severe torture marks on the bodies of her two sons when they returned from school.

Hamza Khan and Rahim Shah -- the students -- who were also present at the press club, told reporters that their teacher started beating them when they failed to learn a lesson.

They alleged that first their teacher beat them with a stick and when it was broken then he started beating them with his hands.

The aggrieved father, after showing his two children to journalists, took them to the district headquarters hospital, Mardan, for treatment.

He appealed to the provincial education minister and other relevant authorities to take stern action against the teacher.
