MUZAFFARGARH: The CIA police claim to have arrested a man who, with the abetment of six other people, tortured his sister on suspicion of elopement of her daughter at Shehr Sultan, about 45 kilometres from here.

The CIA team constituted by District Police Officer Awais Malik arrested Rasool Bakhsh for torturing the woman who is now fighting for her life at Multan’s Nishtar Hospital.

Police said ‘A’, a resident of Shehr Sultan, eloped with a man she allegedly had an affair with a few days ago. Rasool Bakhsh suspected his sister had facilitated her daughter’s elopement and he, along with others, tortured her with clubs and a sharp-edged weapon which resulted in fractures on her legs.

Police registered a case against seven suspects on the complaint of another daughter of the woman and arrested Rasool Bakhsh. They said the absconders would be arrested at the earliest.
