Pakistan Steel

Published October 25, 2016

HIGHLIGHTING such grave issues is a great humanitarian and national service. The failure, closure and non-functional status of the largest industrial enterprise, the mother of industries, is itself very tragic. The steel industry is the backbone for infrastructure development of a country and projects like the CPEC.

The delay or the indecision about reviving the Pakistan Steel is causing loss worth billions of rupees to the national exchequer annually. The distress of the employees who have spent their entire life and shed their blood and sweat during the construction and operation of this national asset, which once played an important role in the construction of many projects in the country, must be resolved on priority.

The press has played its effective role in giving voice to the oppressed people and creating awareness about important issues, and it must continue to do so.
