QUETTA: A Hindu trader was shot dead in his shop when his colleagues had gone to offer Friday prayers on Taj Road in Chaman.

According to police, Santosh Kumar was busy in his routine work when assailants entered his shop and tried to target him. The trader rushed down to the basement to take shelter there but the men chased him and fired several shots at him.

Mr Kumar was kidnapped last year and released only after paying a huge ransom.

Traders belonging to the Hindu community demanded early arrest of the killers.
