MULTAN: The outdoor department of the Multan Institute of Kidney Diseases will be functional from Friday (today).

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had announced the establishment of the much-needed facility back in November 2008. Already constructed building of the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) was modified for the kidney centre which cost Rs1.31 billion.

The hospital administration said 40 dialysis and lithotripsy machines would be installed at the institute in phases. It said the pathology department, hemodialysis and outdoor were being made functional in the first phase.
