TOBA TEK SINGH: Three workers suffered burns when a fire broke out in power plant of a textile mills here on Sunday on Shorkot Road.
The fire erupted in Chenab Fibres owned by family of former district nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq.
The mills officials said the fire broke out due to a short circuit when workers were cleaning the power plant. As a result 35-year-old Muhammad Kashif, 40-year-old Mukhtar Ahmad and Nasrullah, 42, were trapped in the fire and suffered burns. They were admitted to DHQ hospital.
COURSES: The Toba campus of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) has introduced three new degree courses in poultry sciences.
Principal Prof Dr Pervaiz Akhtar told reporters on Sunday that the degree courses included BSc (Hon), MSc (Hon) and PhD.
He added that four new diploma courses were also started in the campus in poultry sciences.
WALK: A walk was arranged here on Sunday by the excise and taxation department in connection with World Anti-Narcotics Day to raise awareness among citizens about harms of drugs.
The walk started from department office and after passing through general bus stand and Shahbaz Chowk it culminated at the starting point.
Speaking on the occasion, E&T officer Rana Qamarul Hasan Sajjad said smuggling and sale of narcotics was not a crime lesser than terrorism as it destroyed lives of millions of youngsters.
He urged parents to keep check on the activities of their children to save them from narcotics.
