SAHIWAL: With installation of an additional 132KV transformer and shifting of power supply line from Jaranwala-Tandliyanwala feeder to Yousafwala grid station, the tripping and prolonged outages issues in Sahiwal division will be resolved.

Punjab Agriculture Minister Dr Farrukh Javed told Dawn that after thorough consultations with Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) chief Mr Fazalullah, Fesco head Chaudhry Ilyas, NTDC, Islamabad, P&W Secretary Younas Daga and state minister Abid Sher Ali, a plan to solve Sahiwal’s power problem had been devised.

For the purpose, Mepco had been directed to immediately buy an extra 132KV transformer and install it at Yousafwala grid station within a week.

He said after installation of the additional transformer, Sahiwal would be de-linked from Jaranwala and Tandliyawala feeder and power supply would be shifted to Yousafwala grid station.

He said temporary shifting of power supply line was already done.
