GUJRANWALA: A woman allegedly killed her daughter for marrying a man of her choice at Butranwali on Thursday.
Muqadas, 22, a resident of Butranwali, selected Shafique as her life partner and married two years ago but her family was unhappy about her decision.
On Thursday, Muqadas’ mother called her to meet the family and allegedly killed her using a knife and escaped.
Civil Lines SP Nadeem Khokhar told Dawn that they were investigating the matter.
Hardly a week ago, a girl was burnt to death by her mother, a brother and a brother-in-law for daring to marry a man of her choice in Lahore.
