PESHAWAR: The death of Pakistani army officer on Tuesday, after being shot by Afghan forces in a clash across Torkham border, is likely to ratchet up tension between the two neighbouring countries — who sources said were beefing up troop numbers on either side.

The Pakistan army has moved heavy weaponry and additional troops to the Afghan border on Monday night, said Pakistani security officials, who wished not to be identified because they were not authorised to speak to the media.

A senior military official, while talking to DawnNews, said that the gate at Torkham will now be built and at any cost.

“If someone tries to create hindrance in the process, the army will retaliate with full force,” he added.

The officer said the construction of this gate was agreed upon by both sides during a bilateral meeting and it was decided that the construction work will be done during Ramazan after iftar.

“But the Afhan authorities are again violating the mutual agreement.”

Meanwhile, the Afghan forces again opened fire on Pakistani security officials on Tuesday evening, injuring two FC personnel.

Pakistan army retaliated with heavy fire and destroyed a military checkpost inside Afghan area, security sources said.

On Monday, an Afghan border police commander had also confirmed that reinforcements had been deployed to the Afghan side of the border.

Army Chief General Raheel Sharif attended funeral prayers on Tuesday for Major Jawad Ali Changezi, who was among nine Pakistani and six Afghan troops wounded in the fighting, security officials said.

One Afghan soldier was killed, Afghan officials had said on Monday.

In Afghanistan's eastern city of Jalalabad, more than a thousand mourners attended funeral prayers on Tuesday for the dead Afghan soldier.

Hundreds of demonstrators burned Pakistani flags at another protest in the southern Afghan city of Lashkar Gah. Angry protesters chanted “Death to Pakistan”.

The main gates at Torkham, the most frequented official border crossing at the end of the Khyber Pass, stayed closed for a third day, leaving thousands stranded on either side.

“This gate (is) considered essential to check and verify documentation of all border crossers,” ISPR spokesman Asim Bajwa said on social media website Twitter on Monday.

Firing between Pakistani and Afghan forces first broke out on Sunday at the crossing, about 45 km west of Peshawar, over the construction of a new border post on the Pakistani side.

Pakistan says it is building the gate to stop militants from crossing the border.

Afghanistan summoned the Pakistani ambassador on Tuesday to register its protest at the violence, Afghanistan's foreign ministry said.

Pakistan had similarly summoned the Afghan charge d'affaires in Islamabad on Monday, the Pakistani foreign office said.

The Pakistan-Afghanistan border has long been porous and disputed. Afghanistan has blocked repeated attempts by Pakistan to build a fence on sections of the roughly 2,200-km-long frontier, rejecting the contours of the boundary.

Keep border closed... Send Afghani refugees back.

Mohammed Sattar Jun 14, 2016 06:42pm

Enough is enough. Remove all Afghans from Pakistan and seal the border. Let them go to India for work and medical treatment. These people bite the hand that feeds them. If any one thinks I am biased towards pathans then let me tell them that za hum pashthoon yum.

Sohail Jun 14, 2016 06:46pm

I hope the situation calms down. Escalation will only help enemies. Refugees are not the problem.

Shah Jun 14, 2016 06:53pm

India will be very pleased.

asad Jun 14, 2016 06:54pm

Send 3m afghanis immigrants to india if indians love them.

tkh Jun 14, 2016 07:01pm

Instead of tit for tat, just close all the border crossings and ban Afghans movements especially where it hurts their monetary interests . This is much quicker and peaceful solution to the border problem.

haris Jun 14, 2016 07:03pm

@Sourabh : yeah! now embrace them.

Salman Jun 14, 2016 07:06pm

Very Sad, what a stupidity by Afghans. They are playing in the enemy's hands. How come that they have forgotten three decades hospitality of Pakistani people and forces. What a shame! I believe this new escalation is to stop the construction of new border checks. Our enemies and afghan terrorist both are frustrated on such move by Pakistani government. However, it is our right to protect our land from these threats and we must act fast and decisively. Secondly we also should move fast on sending all Afghanis from every corner of our territory. They have independent country, they must be send back immediately.

Fateh Jang Jun 14, 2016 07:06pm

Afghans are loosing nothing. They have had enough. besides the Durand Line is not a border, it is colonial line dividing Pashtuns. Terroism is mind set, it cant be controlled by border management or cantonments or forts. The people within are doing terrorism & the state may want to stop it. Dont blame border for it.

Aleem Jun 14, 2016 07:08pm

For all those ignorantly suggesting that Pakistan should shut down the border etc., we cannot under the UN laws. Afghanistan is a land-locked country and Pakistan cannot embargo a country like this. Their trade etc. has to be transported across Pakistan to the warm waters.

SB Jun 14, 2016 07:20pm

Bad moves... Firing not a solution

timetostopthis Jun 14, 2016 07:33pm

This is no way to deal with friends. Pakistan should exercise restraint.

immo Jun 14, 2016 07:37pm

thats exactly what India wants

tkh Jun 14, 2016 07:39pm

@Aleem Under the UN law, can you kill soldiers for constructing check posts on their own land? Think before you speak.

Javaid Jun 14, 2016 07:40pm

Time to send all refugees back to their home!

Iranians kept refugees in camps and sent them back!

Pakistan extended their hospitality by letting them come out of camps and into the cities...and hence this dilemma!

Time to send all refugees back to their home!

Ramesh Krishnan Jun 14, 2016 07:40pm

Durand Line is drawn by the British...Afghans never accepted it...they believe it is a line dividing Pashtuns...Pakistan should carefully handle this situation by using diplomatic means...Let your PM comeback from London...Political leaders can discuss the issue and find a solution...

Salman Jun 14, 2016 07:41pm

@Aleem intensifying border chech does not mean border closed. Border still remains open for trade and people's crossing but every thing must be checked strictly and to be in a system.

shafqat a mir Jun 14, 2016 07:42pm

@Aleem sometimes one bitter pill does not work, in this case we need may be second

and third one. enough of our enemies, they need four of them

immo Jun 14, 2016 07:43pm

those who calling for deporting all Afghans are no different than Donald Trump who calls for deportation of all Afghans are not the problem the one luring Afghans with a Lollipop is the problem

Umar Jun 14, 2016 07:49pm

Why so hatred? I see people only commenting such things that further detoriate the situation. Sending rufeeges back isn't gonna solve the problem... Make room for others in your heart.. when are we gonna understand the only solution to the problem is dialogue nothing else.. you can never kill an idea or ideology with the force of gun!

Param Jun 14, 2016 08:01pm

Pakistan cant do any construction near disputed Afgan-Pak border. Even China and India is not doing any construction near LAC border to maintain peace in that region.

shaffiq qureshi Jun 14, 2016 08:04pm

India must be very pleased with these developments

shehzad younus Jun 14, 2016 08:06pm

it will be hard luck for both states if this exchange of fire continues in future.............both are muslim states n this type of adventures don,t suit these both neighbours.

Neutral Jun 14, 2016 08:11pm

Is this a ploy to pull Afghan forces away from the Taliban area so that Taliban can gain upper hand inside Afghanistan?

Izaz Jun 14, 2016 08:11pm

A peaceful Afghanistan will be responsible for the unpeaceful Pakistan. It's time to seal borders, identify those Afghan crooks who have Pakistani ID cards and punish them hard along with their facilitators. Last but not the least no individual should be allowed in Pakistan with out a proper visa.

haris Jun 14, 2016 08:12pm

@Ramesh Krishnan : Yes, Durand line is drawn by British but saying Afghans never accepted it reflects how ignorant you are. Afghans did accepted it and they did agreed with Pakistan soon after her independence. The issue here is the contract between the two countries has been expired for 24 yrs and there isn't a renewal or a final decision made from either side. Only shot-extensions has been agreed.

But anyway this new conflict has nothing to do with Durand line. The Pashtuns living either side of the borders easily crossing the territories for decades. Moreover, Afghan Govt. knew it very well the importance of border crossings with Pakistan.

Accountability Jun 14, 2016 08:13pm

For years, Pakistan has been giving away too much for almost nothing. Time to assert Pakistani authority on border areas, start serious negotiations to repatriate three million refugees, and temporarily close the border entries to Pakistan until afghans start taking Pakistan seriously. Its possible that enemies of Pakistan are inciting afghans to start clashes on border areas, another trick to keep Pakistan tied down to afghan problems thus preventing Pakistan from focusing on its plans for progress. Pakistan needs to isolate itself from Afghan problem at once. Lets afghans keep fighting among themselves for next fifty years, that is not Pakistan's problem.

M.Saeed Jun 14, 2016 08:18pm

What Afghan brothers? Are they not squeezing our resources as refugees since war of freedom from Soviet Russia?

Faizan Jun 14, 2016 08:19pm

Its evident that Afghans are harboring terrorists and don't want any fences installed to hinder their free flow across the border. The sane minds have been repeatedly asking the govt. to repatriate the afghans and seal the border. Now the time is right to do away with this menace as afghans are not a friendly nation. They would live on our land, eat our food but take instructions from India. I am a pashtun but i have never in my life seen treachery in any other nation as much as i have seen it in the afghans.

Denali Jun 14, 2016 08:21pm

The Afghans have used Pakistani largess for a long time. They opposed the creation of Pakistan. They are ungrateful for the help that was given to them during the Soviet invasion/occupation. With their drugs and guns they have changed the Pakistani landscape. They can not be reliable friends. They will stab you in the back the first chance they get. India knows this and India also knows that they are protected by the buffer Pakistan provides. As many writers have said earlier, India is welcome to the Afghans, their drugs and their guns.

yaqoot Jun 14, 2016 08:21pm

The gate must be built PERIOD, no matter what the Afghans think of this Durrand Line, the fate is sealed as far as Pakistan is concerned infact we should start talking the Wakhaan Corridor with them which is part of Gilgit Baltistan and not Afghanistan. All Afghans in Pakistan need to go back as things according to the Afghan government are now back to normal in their country and its flourishing. Good luck

khan Jun 14, 2016 08:27pm

All afghan/Pakistan borders needs to be sealed.

Ali Jun 14, 2016 08:33pm

The United States must ensure Pak-Afghan border controls are "tightened" to stop movement of terrorists across the border. President Obama must demand Afghan government to stop creating hurdles in installing wire and fencing.

Afghan intelligence (NDS) does not want wire fencing, as that will hinder sending terrorists across to Pakistan? Many Afghan terrorists have been caught who have revealed shocking role of NDS in terrorism. The US must end such terrorism.

Abdul Jun 14, 2016 08:37pm

@immo lethal observation brother. Kudos.

Taimoor Khan Jun 14, 2016 08:37pm

@Aleem India blocked Nepal trade and fuel isnt it. Where was UN charter there? We got more reasons to block Afghan access because its a national security issue now.

Spooky Jun 14, 2016 08:39pm

I am Pashthun on Pakistan side I am quiet happy where I am. I don,t need Afghanistan support. Lock all the border and throw away the key in the ocean. Not a single Afghani should be allowed to cross the border with out a visa.

Salman Jun 14, 2016 08:39pm

@Umar we don't need to prove that how open hearted we are. We have already proved in three decades of hospitality. Now its Afghan's turn to acknowledge it and not to play in enemy's hands to trouble Pakistan.

GAK Wazir Jun 14, 2016 08:45pm

These are not only Afghan soldiers. There are some instigators behind them to vitiate bilateral ties between the two countries. Pakistani security forces must respond to the Afghan adventure effectively. If they need additional men power tribal people must come for the defence of the mother land

Rohail Jun 14, 2016 08:45pm

Send them all back where they belong and cease the border. Stop this brotherly Islamic country logo. I am Pashtoon and I support sending every single afghan back to Kabul. Period.

joe Jun 14, 2016 08:46pm

@Salman Can I give you a simple answer. Who has constructed wire fencing along indo Pakistan border.?

Irfan Jun 14, 2016 08:47pm

Instead of deploying more troops , Alert the Airforce for possible quick response

Asif Jun 14, 2016 08:48pm

So this is one of the "brotherly" country. Send all these people back they have already done enough damage to us.

M.Saeed Jun 14, 2016 08:52pm

Durand Line was a temporary Agreement of Afghans with British which was left un-signed between Pakistan and Afghanistan due to the opposition of Sarhadi Gandhi, Ghaffar Khan, the father of Wali Khan and grandfather of Asfandyar Wali, who wanted it to pass through Attock, making the entire area west of River Indus a part of greater Afghanistan he named Pakhtunistan

tamil Jun 14, 2016 08:52pm

and so the great game begins

parveez shafi Jun 14, 2016 08:54pm

When will we get tough ? build a wall on the border were ever it can be built, and stop any cross border movement for few months, and see how the Afgan feel.

Tribal Jun 14, 2016 08:54pm

Sealed the border and send all afg back. I'm not against pathans .. Za hum pakhtun yam

Arif Jun 14, 2016 08:55pm

I don't know who to blame for this but it is sad that one neighbor fighting the other neighbor when the first neighbor heavily rely on the second neighbor. Land is man made. Like it or not India is very happy today. They successfully ignited fire. Peace in Pakistan is not acceptable by either India or now Afghanistan.

Waseem Malik Jun 14, 2016 08:57pm

Its high time we teach lesson to Afghan govt.

Zak Jun 14, 2016 08:57pm

@Shah India is behind this.

flying star Jun 14, 2016 08:58pm

@Spooky shabash good

flying star Jun 14, 2016 08:59pm

seal the border please, after to send all afghani to there contry

Sarwar, USA. Jun 14, 2016 09:05pm

Its only Afghans who are coming and going at the border . How many Pakistanis are going to Afghanistan negligible. Seal all the borders and only movements should be through valid documents. India can take all Afghan refugees. We can transport them through Wagah border. Modi show some hospitality.

M.Saeed Jun 14, 2016 09:08pm

@Ali : Why should the US do that? What for do you think they are still there after 15 years? In such affairs, it is not what meets the eye.

Bharat Kumar Jaiswal Jun 14, 2016 09:08pm

@Taimoor Khan India never block the fuel and other essential thing to Nepal official. The agitated citizen from Madhehi comunity stopped the movement of vehicle.

Khan Jun 14, 2016 09:20pm

Afghanistan has the honor to be the only countty in the world to oppose Pakistan inclusion in the UN !

Beyond Border Jun 14, 2016 09:25pm

@Arif I understand there are some minor disputes between Pakistan and afghans, but why you drag Indians here. India wants strong and peaceful neighbours, so she can grow stronger.

Samrat Jun 14, 2016 09:25pm

@Zak prove it.

Fahd N Jun 14, 2016 09:26pm

@Aleem, Pakistan is in its full right to enforce visa regime on its border and build posts on its side of border. Afghan forces attacking Pakistani post for doing so is an act of war, in lieu of this Pakistan is in its full right to respond in its national interest as it so wishes!

Rana Jun 14, 2016 09:27pm

@Param :, why India had built fence on line of control, Indian cannot build any post or any installation on disputed area, Durand Line is not disputed area read history before speak .

Akram Jun 14, 2016 09:28pm

@Ramesh Krishnan "Durand Line is drawn by the British...Afghans never accepted it..." Thank you sir for your valuable observation. We have similar views on Kashmir LoC.

Akram Jun 14, 2016 09:28pm

Now that hostilities have broken out, we should send F-16s to bomb TTP leadership in Afghanistan.

flying star Jun 14, 2016 09:32pm

india want this, Pakistan please remove all afghani refugies from Pakistan, seal the border, dont give the chance to india (dont make war),focus on education, health, economie, electricity, water,

Karachitee Jun 14, 2016 09:32pm

General sahib please do whatever needs to be done to secure Pakistani border. As a karachite we already saw too much drugs, guns and sectarian violence because of insecure border. Pakistani people whether from KPK or Karachi they will support you.

shakil khan Jun 14, 2016 09:32pm

@Param how about LOC dude

tkh Jun 14, 2016 09:33pm

@Fateh Jang This is a blatant lie!

Pashtun kp Jun 14, 2016 09:33pm

Its because of India that afghans are seeing this day, with borders closed and relations with Pakistan seriously damaged.

Last Word Jun 14, 2016 09:33pm

The faulty foreign policy followed by Pakistan towards neighbours has come to fore. It is high time for Pakistan to review its misplaced policies to avoid further isolation at international arena.

Karachitee Jun 14, 2016 09:34pm

@M.Saeed This is 2016 just to let you know! If you have more sympathy please move to Afghanistan. World only follow UN proposed demarcation of the country.

Pashtun kp Jun 14, 2016 09:34pm

Along with teaching a lesson to Afghans we should now go inside afghanistan and eliminate TTP.

Khwaja Jun 14, 2016 09:36pm

so sad both sides are Muslim brothers.

Shahid Jun 14, 2016 09:40pm

Push all Afghan refugees back to Afghanistan and close the border.

Sarai Alamgir Jun 14, 2016 09:41pm

Send all the Afghanis to their best friend countries like India and Iran.

moeaze Jun 14, 2016 09:41pm

The balance of military power is being disturbed in the region by West. This could lead to a war that can easily run out of control. West and countries in the region need to pay serious attention to resolve the issue before it gets out of control and may result in a war that is not good for any of the nations in the region.

Kamran wazir Jun 14, 2016 09:44pm

Now it is evident that the foreign policy of Pakistan has failed in managing regional relations with neighbouring countries

IMDADALI Jun 14, 2016 09:47pm

it is big loss to the country because we have been deprived of from the service and devotion of a brave solider namely Maj matryed Ali Jawed who lost his life in the line of duty. This clearly depicts that the afghanistan is following the policy of others by violating the international border law and illegal firing on pakistan check posts. Our country must establish not only security check post inside 37 meters for checking purpose but also near future fencing wires about 2200 k.m long border section may be installed so that entry of illegal migrants, terrorists, smugglers crossing the border and entering to the pakistan for nefarious design from afghanistan. In future they must be given the reply in befitting matter if they again repeat this dirty practice of firing over pakistan check posts

Dr.Arshad Jun 14, 2016 09:48pm

Yes if we accept that there is no Durand Line, then Afghanistan will automatically become another province of Pakistan as it used to be during Mughal era! Fact of the matter is Afghans are ungrateful nation.Pakistan must repatriate all of them from its soil.period.

Salman Jun 14, 2016 09:49pm

And where is our PM?

moazzam khan Jun 14, 2016 10:06pm

Close the Afghan border permanently from Pakistan side and through out all Afghan refugees.Enough is enough, no more relaxation.

N_Saq Jun 14, 2016 10:31pm

Nothing is ever solved with the barrel of the gun. It only make people take even a harder line. Look around Iraq, Syria etc are good example. The best solution to all problems is dialogue and more dialogue. There is no doubt one should always be prepared to use force in case hostilities break out but war should never be an option.

The best thing for Pak to do right now is to deescalate the situation and request an independent investigation into the matter by third party i.e. UN that is acceptable to both countries. You cannot undo what has already been done, therefore, there is no need to create more enemies when you can do it without. I hope cooler heads prevail.

Ali Kazmi Jun 14, 2016 10:53pm

Bring USA on the same page on this, they must stop Afghans from doing this. They cant just sit idle while Afghanistan plays dirty games here. Send all Afghans back to their home. Stop all correspondence with them immediately. We cant host any peace talks for them while they are killing our people, let them muster courage and sort their issue out themselves. We are not responsible for their mess anyway.

helloWorld Jun 14, 2016 10:55pm

Pakistan army is bigger and has more weaponery then Afgan. Pakistan army should restrain like Indian army. Show Afgan who the big brother is and show maturity!

Socrates of Gilgit-Baltistan Jun 14, 2016 11:03pm

Ready yourself for a new situation people as the enemy is within as it is across the boarders. Too much reliance on unscruplous relations can create the circumstances of life and death. An ignorant friend is worse than a knowledgeable enemy who at least knows the rules of love and hate. A beast remains a beast even if it is in the company of Christ. Ahead is a delicate situation and warrant all stakeholders on the same page if we think that Pakistan is more important than our claims of unfounded fantasies because the competition is getting complicated and our political and religious leaders are still wants to live in fools paradise.

Zalmay Jun 14, 2016 11:19pm

Ceasefire!!!

adil Jun 14, 2016 11:23pm

To avoid further clashes why not ask UN forces be deployed. Border should have been drawn long ago. Pakistan was losing trade custom revenue and still paying for cross border terrorism.

Vijay Jun 15, 2016 01:51am

@Dr.Arshad There was no Pakistan during the Mughal era, genius.

Vito Jun 15, 2016 01:52am

The tension at pak afghan border is really a very sad development. I believe that this is high time for an active diplomatic engagement which so far is not visible. Someone needs to wake up our diplomatic machinery to take stock of the situation. Sanity should prevail as both sides can't afford the cost of military engagement.

Rehan Jun 15, 2016 10:03am

Seal the border and make sure anyone who wants to cross has to follow a strict verification process. Also, it's about time that Afghans that are illegally staying in Pakistan be deported without wasting any more time.

Roy Jun 15, 2016 10:21am

it is very critical time and work with deliberation is more important than being aggressive and start a fight. For, we know very well that who is pulling strings of Afghanistan against Pakistan. So, in order to keep a balance, we must negotiate and control the situation by peace instead of fighting. However, if they still do, blows for a blow!

Jahaalatmaar Jun 15, 2016 10:30am

@Sohail I agree, efforts should be made from both sides to calm down the situation and to make sure that no such incidence happens again from any side. Both countries should behave like friends and brothers as this is interest of both the countries and shouldn't be made ego problem from any side in any case. Both people have many things in common which should be a binding force.

Waseem Jun 15, 2016 10:40am

@Mohammed Sattar Agreed and well said

FAISAL KHAN Jun 15, 2016 10:43am

@Aleem No one is talking about embargoing them ... Just need to send back the refugees.. UN Laws does nt says you should keep 3 million refugees of a land locked country and let them terrorise your country..........

Waseem Jun 15, 2016 10:48am

@Fateh Jang Well I am always annoyed by the fake theory that Durand Line is just a line dividing the same people across the border what's wrong with you guys speaking the same language doesn't mean we belongs to the same ancestors there is nothing common in between us and them we Pashtun living in Pakistan have our own cultural values and history we hate all those who hate our country even if they are my own blood relatives it does not makes any difference.

Mount Jun 15, 2016 10:51am

Fruitless friendship of Afghans.

Zain - USA Jun 15, 2016 11:00am

Aghanis better watch out and stop messing with Pakistan. US had no leverage over Afghanistan, and it conducted mostly aerial bombardment over mostly empty mountains and they ended up wasting Trillions of Dollars for no return. Pakistan has a lot of leverage over Afghanistan. Afghanistan's entire outside trade depends on Pakistan, since Afghanistan uses Pakistan's ports and roads for 100% of its trade. Pakistan supplies Afghanistan with Food. There are over 6 million Afghanis living in Pakistan who support millions of more people back in Afghanistan.

It is Indians that want bad blood between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pakistanis don't want to start a war with its little brother Afghanistan. So, Afghanis should start behaving and not fall in trap of Indian agents supplying Afghans with weapons and instigating them to start a War with Pakistan.

Logic Jun 15, 2016 11:03am

@Sarwar, USA. , Yes Pakistan should take billions of dollars from UN to accomodate these refugees and India should take refugees...

Fawad Jun 15, 2016 11:21am

@Aleem You are right,

sambathkumar Jun 15, 2016 11:42am

@hasan We (India) focussing on development of nation. We are not concentrating what pakistan doing? The dispute rightnow going with Afgan is your internal issue. Why you always drag our nation unnecessarily on this ?

Fawad Jun 15, 2016 11:43am

@Rana Durand line is a disputed border, AFG doesn't recognize it as the border, go and educate yourself!

Abhai Singh Jun 15, 2016 11:52am

Very Very sad news. We don't know when our Asian borders will be peacefully open as in Europe. Let there be friendship between countries and people travel free within. Death of Pakistani Officer is condoled.

ss Jun 15, 2016 12:41pm

Pakistan has every right to construct gates wherever it likes along its borders. Trump is right - a wall is needed to keep undesirable elements out.

Amanullah Khan Jun 15, 2016 01:11pm

@Socrates of Gilgit-Baltistan Very well said. I agree

imran Jun 15, 2016 01:12pm

Pakistan need to build fence along entire 2300 km long Afghan border . Its rotten saying that fence can't be built along hilly area, how China wall was built thousand years ago then? Its the matter of our lives and security.
India has also sealed our border with fence, why don't we seal with Afghanistan even we know terrorists penetrate from Afghan border.

Waseem Jun 15, 2016 01:20pm

Enough of the jingoism madness. The only international product of Afghanistan for more than a thousand years is war and destruction. If we join the saber rattling mantra, we are playing on their pitch. Let's start peace, this is something they have no clue about, and they sure are gonna loose.

Maryam Jun 15, 2016 01:39pm

@Aleem Ok then what about India posing embargo on Nepal?, where is the UN for that?, as If UN laws are being acted upon anywhere in the world!

Adnan Jun 15, 2016 01:51pm

@Param please don't compare the two...Durand line is Intl recognized line and accepted bdrs

Sri1 Jun 15, 2016 02:28pm

@Shah " India will be very pleased" Why? Bhaijaan, do remember that Indians are only against your boys, not innocent Pakistani civilians. The moment the civilian elected government gets the guts and support for complete control of all policies, like the Turks, India will be the first to help Pakistan get on its own feet, if that help is at all needed.

Ghulam Qadir Jun 15, 2016 02:40pm

We Pakistani was so much caring about afhan people due to muslim brother ship but they did not respond good. The main role play of USA is behind this situation and tumult. Now they afghan people will face their consequences. Pakistan Zindabad.Pak Army is given free hand at border to tackle issues in order to secure Pakistan and overcome aggression from outside. Pak Army Zindabad

Dave Jun 15, 2016 03:00pm

@SAQ WOW. How can you expect pakistan to develop, if your mentality is like this.

Noman ALI Jun 15, 2016 03:21pm

Drove out all Afghans from our motherland, seal the border so that no more Afghanis can enter Pakistan. They have cross their limits and its time to teach them a lesson, the hands that have feed them they also know how to break a jaw and if anyone has a problem with that he or she can got to Afghanistan.

Sub se Pehle PAKISTAN

Safi Jun 15, 2016 03:58pm

@tkh The check post was being constructed illegally on Afghan side of the Durand line...

Iftikhar Husain Jun 15, 2016 04:44pm

It is high time Pakistan is doing right thing to stop infiltration from Afghan side. There is also a third power involved in this.

Mohan Jun 15, 2016 05:10pm

@tkh How different are you from Trump then?

khanm Jun 15, 2016 07:52pm

@Dr faiza..Dr Faiza with due respect what refugees have to do with their government policies ...you sound like Donald trump... have some compassion...if I were u I would rather go n treat those poor people.. You know, those of them who leave their homes in the morning and expect to find them there when they go back - it's hard for them to understand what the experience of a refugee might be like...

oghani Jun 15, 2016 08:32pm

@Aleem Actually, it can be transported via Iran as well. So, Pakistan can and should seal the border for once and for all.

Riaz Uddin Jun 15, 2016 09:13pm

The change pakistan's.foreign policy after 1977 made pakistan isolated in the region.

It left negative impact resulting thereby that India, Iran and Afghanistan are united against pakistan and pursuing almost the similar policies Arabs meted out with Israel in the past.

The situation is pretty grave and demands drastic changes on foreign policy in order to improve its relationships with its immediate and distant neighbours on priority bases that is essentially required to regain its previous image which Pakistan had enjoyed before 1977.

m. Jun 16, 2016 01:06am

@Aleem Sir, the security of our country is much more important to us than any UN law. UN has done nothing for Pakistan to control the India, in Kashmir.

Bipin Jun 16, 2016 11:59am

@Rana those are not permanent structures no land changing activity so it's perfectly legal

Trump baba Jun 16, 2016 12:27pm

@Zain - USA very soon it will change with port in Iran wait and watch...

Sajjad Khan Jun 16, 2016 02:27pm

@Shah Shah sahib the Pakistani people are used to harrassment by both India and Afghanistan and the Durand Line border is there to stay as even America has recognized that.

Sajjad Khan Jun 16, 2016 02:27pm

@asad India loves them as a proxy towards Pakistan

SAP Jun 17, 2016 12:11am

@Sohail Refugees are the Biggest Problem

SAP Jun 17, 2016 12:13am

@Fateh Jang Terrorism can be very effectively controlled if our borders are checked. We should not allow any Afghans to cross our borders. Enough is Enough

aflatoon Jun 17, 2016 04:27am

Afghans are our brothers and sisters. please no more hate comments .Pray for peace and harmony in both countries.

J Abid Jun 17, 2016 09:46am

Pakistan should STOP trade transit till Afghanistan agrees to the construction of gates and fences to manage border on Pakistan side.

Next, Pakistan should send back all refugees and their children back to Afghanistan. They are security risk for Pakistan.

J Abid Jun 17, 2016 09:46am

@Dr faizan Agree with you Faizan 100%.

Ron Jun 17, 2016 12:38pm

I would like to know Afghani's perspective. Surely they wouldn't have started it.

Arzan Toshkhani Jun 17, 2016 02:16pm

@Shah

No, India has far more important things to worry about than pay attention to foreign border skirmishes. Indians want nothing more than good relations between Afghanistan and all its neighbours, and peace and stability within Afghanistan.
