KASUR: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid a surprise visit to the Ramazan Bazaar and got public feedback on the provision of facilities here on Sunday.

Officials of the district administration remained on their toes in anticipation of the chief minister’s visit a day earlier — Saturday.

The chief minister remained in Kasur for about four hours without any protocol and travelled by a passenger van. He visited the Ramazan Bazaar and spoke to the customers and listened to their complaints. Many customers complained that there was little difference between the prices at the Ramazan Bazaar and those in the open market.

Upbeat and energetic, Shahbaz Sharif applauded the overall arrangements at the facility. He appreciated a traffic official, ASI Tariq Aziz, and announced cash prize and commendation certificate for him. He also announced commendation certificates for the police officials who are performing duties in mosques at the time of taraveeh.

The CM also visited the DHQ hospital and went to various wards and inspected the attached bathrooms.

He expressed his displeasure at insanitary conditions and inoperative air conditioner. He inquired after the patients and gave a cheque to one of them. He directed the hospital administration to ensure free medicines for the patients.

Later, on his way back home, he landed at a brick kiln at a village near Raja Jang and spoke to labourers and their children.
