LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) claims to have made the best security arrangements, particularly for women activists, for the Faisalabad public meeting to be held on Friday, while the Punjab government warns the PTI leadership of potential risk there.

The Faisalabad meeting was earlier scheduled for May 8 but was postponed in the wake of harassment of women participants by some miscreants during the previous meetings held in Islamabad and Lahore.

Ejaz Chaudhry, PTI organiser for the Faisalabad meeting, told a gathering of women here on Tuesday that the best security arrangements had been made for women activists and urged them to join the proceedings without fear.

He reiterated the allegation that fearful of rising political awareness among women the PML-N government hatched the conspiracy of harassing women at PTI meetings to deter them from joining opposition ranks.

Meanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah warned the PTI leadership of looming terrorist threats.

He said the provincial government would provide all possible security cover to the PTI for its Faisalabad meeting, but the sole responsibility in case of a mishap would rest on the party if it chose to ignore the threat alerts for large public gatherings.
