RAWALPINDI: In an unprecedented move, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif dismissed six army officers, including two generals, from service over alleged corruption, an authoritative source confirmed on Thursday.

Earlier media reports said 12 officers, including some JCOs, were dismissed, but the source said that this was mere speculation.

However, no one from the military's media wing was willing to confirm any of these figures on record.

A lieutenant general, major general and three brigadiers are said to be among those dismissed from service, said an intelligence official speaking to DawnNews on condition of anonymity.

The dismissed officers have reportedly served with the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and were charged for corruption during their service with the paramilitary force.

The others dismissed were junior commission officers who worked with those named above, said the intelligence official.

Following the investigation conducted by then Adjutant Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat on the orders of the army chief, the charged officers were asked to return all earnings accumulated through corruption, the official said, adding that all perks and privileges had been withdrawn from the officers except their pensions.

Lt Gen Obaidullah also served as IG FC from 2010-2013, after which Maj Gen Ejaz Shahid was appointed IG FC, intelligence sources said.

There has been no official confirmation regarding the move.

The development comes two days after the COAS said "across the board accountability is necessary for the solidarity, integrity and prosperity of Pakistan", adding that the war against terror cannot be won unless "the menace of corruption is uprooted".

Gen Raheel said "Pakistan’s Armed Forces will fully support every meaningful effort in that direction which would ensure a better future for our next generations."

The army chief's call for across-the-board accountability comes as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is embroiled in the explosive Panama Papers which count his family among other global political elite with undeclared offshore assets.

Opposition leaders have demanded a probe into the scandal, with some calling for the prime minister to step down.

Quarters close to the PM’s Office say Nawaz is determined to have his three children cleared of accusations of money laundering and tax evasion in the aftermath of Panama Papers leak.

Politicians and analysts weigh in

PML-N's Zubair Umar said that although the army chief's move was laudable, only the PML-N and prime minister should not be targeted. He called for holding "corrupt elements" within the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and PPP accountable as well.

PTI's Shah Mahmood Qureshi appreciated the development, terming the move a signal that Operation Zarb-i-Azb and the war against corruption will not stop. "This action will bring more credibility to the state's security in carrying out an across-the-board operation."

Qamar Zaman Kaira of the PPP said it was time for the PM and his family to come clean regarding the Panama leaks, adding that the opposition parties had "no differences over the initiation of a transparent inquiry". "Things done through consensus take time, and the Panama inquiry will also take some time."

Jamaat-i-Islami's Ameer Sirajul Haq said the civilian leadership should stand united against "economic terrorism" like it stands against militancy and terrorism after Army Public School massacre. He said the government was "still confused about forming a commission over Panama Papers".

Former president Pervez Musharraf also lauded the army chief's action.

Defence analyst Hassan Askari said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other agencies will be pressed to take similar action regarding bureaucracy.

The army chief's actions will have repercussions for civilian institutions and corrupt politicians under the microscope would be probed transparently.

Security analyst Talat Masood said the Army chief has "set an example for politicians to follow" and the decision would "build pressure on politicians as well as the judiciary to root out corruption".

"This decision has come at a time when certain sections were apprehensive about the involvement of Pakistan Army in civilian matters," Masood.

Dawn editorial: Army chief's 'accountability' views

"Accountability per se is not a political issue, but then the national conversation at the moment is about the excesses of elected leaders. Perhaps a better way to interject itself into that conversation would have been for the military to start the so-called across-the-board accountability process itself.

Surely in offering the military to greater financial scrutiny, a positive example would be set that politicians would be under legitimate pressure to follow.

Yet, where the military errs, the political class inflicts damage on itself — and the wider cause of democracy."

Way to go. Splendid work.

Asmat Ullah Apr 21, 2016 03:24pm

A barrage of analysis will follow tonight on news channels. For example take the Tweet of Syed Talat Hussain. The flaw is not in the system under which corruption took place but the flow is with the accountability or implementation of the system. Doing it demonstrates that its a question of implementation and not the laws. All we need political will to eradicate corruption in our institutions and personally not to indulge in any form of corruption.

Muzamil Hussain Apr 21, 2016 03:24pm

at the end of a days all it requires is one good man to bring the revolution. Salute ...!

PAKISTAN ZINDABAD Apr 21, 2016 03:25pm

imran Apr 21, 2016 03:27pm

Hats off...!

Khi96 Apr 21, 2016 03:26pm

Good. But Why are you defaming your institution by doing such things which is already clean. Clean up the political mess from the country. Be direct! By doing such things don't expect Nawaz Sharif to do his own accountability. No one does this. You need to take initiative yourself for political battle field!

Bilal Apr 21, 2016 03:28pm

Now I will believe that action against the corrupt is being taken seriously.

Sane Apr 21, 2016 03:28pm

ahmadshaur Apr 21, 2016 03:32pm

This is exactly the kind of response we needed from Gen. Sahab.

Ali Apr 21, 2016 03:31pm

I like Raheel Sharif, but still Army should not interfere in civil. COAS is still not the president or prime minister. He has certain tasks to perform under people elected govenment.

shafi Apr 21, 2016 03:32pm

mere dissmisal will not work, put them behind the bars

Usman Bashir Apr 21, 2016 03:33pm

As much as i want to applaud the effort, its just optics for the following reasons; 1. Those officers should be stripped from Army ranks for the trial and be punished like any individual who would do corruption, otherwise, lets say if we disqualify a certain politician for his corruption, would people be satisfied with it? Corruption does not end with financial cheating (although most of them are involved in financial aspects anyway). If you are truly serious, let the civilian law, take its action and those need to be trialed for subverting the law.

Qaiser Iqbal Apr 21, 2016 03:33pm

Great move General!

Gilgit Baltistan Apr 21, 2016 03:34pm

If Govt. don;t follow suit, please make them follow the example by force. These politicians and beauractrates have not given anything to Pakistan anyways and most if not all are corrupt. Then comes Civil Service and semi Govt. accountability.

GRS, I can see that light at the end of the tunnel for the very first time under your tenure that you are touching those very issues which has completely isolated this society from the global scene as most corrupt societies. I salute each and every effort from you to make this nation towards better.

IMKHAN Apr 21, 2016 03:41pm

This precedence will prove a great catalyst to purge the system of the menace of corruption. There is no excuse left for other organs of the government to follow the suit. This puts a huge 'moral' pressure on politicians as well. Time to pay back or perish has just dawned. Congratulations.

Petrolhead Apr 21, 2016 03:44pm

It is now a question of time until General Raheel becomes PM Raheel. Is there anyone who would not vote for him? Still I hope he knows something also about how to run an economy and society without being able to make simple orders.

As much as i was skeptical of the recent moves by the COAS, its hard not to love this guy.

Optimist Apr 21, 2016 03:52pm

I hope institutions will become stronger and we will be relying less on individuals to do the job. I also expect Raheel Shareef has made army more stronger as an institution who will follow the footprints of Raheel Sharif after his retirement as well.

M. Malik Apr 21, 2016 04:04pm

In the meantime, there are certain bankers, law firms, and accountants in Panama, Bahamas, Caymans and Jersey, frantically trying to create new cover, offshore shell companies with mere PO boxes, using third-party secretive accounts and fake invoices, trying to conceal the paper trail and banking transactions of certain wealthy families in Pakistan, in case of full-blown investigation and forensic audit.

Zardari, NS et al are no doubt nervous and busy thinking of novel explanations to avoid the storm that is brewing!

Zia Apr 21, 2016 04:04pm

And next one is?? those who might be 1000s of time more corrupt than these officers and yet ruling Pakistan.

AIZ Apr 21, 2016 04:04pm

Yesterday I couldnt buy a story book for my 4.5 year old which he insisted as it was 950rs and i have 10 more days to month end ,after 18 years of education ..and 11 years of experiences thats the resultant of corruption and its affect if you think deep.every single thing has de stabilized due to corruption ..i was thinking the positive outcomes if i bought that book. its all because of the corrupt people their greed for money has made all institute pvt companies vendor consumer market etc etc every system has suffered.Mr Raheel sb I have lost fate in politicians Kindly step forward.

Ali F. Apr 21, 2016 04:17pm

Dear all Pakistanis, Though the General has done a great job, please appreciate his work but do not ever accept dictatorship over democracy. We need a stable democratic system in Pakistan with everyone accountable to judicial system. Do not forget we welcome generals and then pray to get rid of them. Running a democracy is not their game. Let pray for a stronger judicial system, stronger police, stronger education system in Pakistan. We need to replace the corrupt politicians with fair politicians not with dictators.

This is great.Corruption should be rooted out from all over Pakistan.

Whatacountry Apr 21, 2016 04:24pm

I don't hear any one saying "Jahooriyat khatray may hay." Why? Because our majority Parliamentarians have always followed their leader who is unfamiliar with process of accountability or consider corruption as part of politics.

Wajeeh Ul Hassan Apr 21, 2016 04:24pm

I wondering why people are only appreciating this Army Chief's act ? we should condemned those corrupt army officers those scrabbling our country inside.

atif Apr 21, 2016 04:26pm

@Ali F. you need to read a book top 100 Generals. why dictators ship is wrong if its done for the well being of society.Mr Ali All developed western country are what they are today just because of Generals/Military Men. Even USA..hope you know who was George Washington well he was the commander of the continental Army..look at France who streamlined it?? even in Pakistan the most development done in comparison has been done in Military Rule..these politicians have brain washed people in this country with word dictatorship.its not like that in dictator ship people will be made stand against the wall and shot in the head.think logical.

Ashraf Usman Apr 21, 2016 04:34pm

General now make sure that the civilian crooks do not run away. Make all of them accountable and force them to bring the looted money back. My guess is its close to one trillion dollars.

G.R SINDHI Apr 21, 2016 04:37pm

There should be another way of accountability and taking decision because it is the trend being in Pakistan that all burden carry the chiefs and heads of the states, that's why sometimes they face to the complex circumstances and it is also becomes a reasoning of non stability in country, by the way active decision.

Usman Apr 21, 2016 04:46pm

@atif

Military Dictators have mostly brought the destruction rather than improvement in societies. You may hate Politicians but the fact is NS was the brainchild or tool of a General and Musharraf actually brought NRO to allow people like Zardari to govern again.. and the list can go on.

If a Politician tries to do wrong, there will be some check in form of establishment.. But if establishment is ruling itself, no one will be able to stop the wrong!

FC in Balochistan is totally corrupt and they openly support smuggling in and out of Pakistan and also illegal movement of people across the border. It is an open truth and every one who has been to balochistan knows this fact. In Quetta one can see more Afghans than Pakistanis and they not only have Pakistani NIC and passports but even own property and business and drive illegally smuggled cars right under the nose of Balochistan Government and FC... It is the right and much needed action. better late than never!

Politicians are politicians, they will say 'this is not enough' and would blame the Army for protecting retired officers etc. But for retired officers, there's NAB and FIA who should have free hand after this action.

Mango man Apr 21, 2016 05:09pm

I appreciate the spirit behind this very bold action which is indeed unprecedented in the history of Pakistan. This shows that how strong is the internal accountability system of the Pak Defence Forces. This action has not only uplift the image of army but has also sent a very strong beacon to the civil government and bureaucracy that Gen RS wants it this way.....Pak Army Zindabad.

Zak Apr 21, 2016 05:38pm

It is good these corrupt officers have been named publially. Pakistan has set another example in the region. As for politicians , they can't do same because from top down , they are all corrupt, except Imran Khan. With this kind of professional armed forces, we need an honest committed competent leader.

Iqbal Apr 21, 2016 05:39pm

This certainly one unprecedented example set but the COAS. The statements coming from the ruling party in the after math is nothing short of panic trying to downplay the dismissal of high raking army officers, as they know very well what's coming next.

It time now for the big fish to be accountable for all the loot and plunder committed over the years siphoning billions from the tax payers money, enjoying safe havens abroad.

You have proven it by starting the process of accountability through purging the uniformed personnel who have been proven guilty of offences &being involved in corruption.

General, keep this accountability process going at full speed & let Pakistan be cleaned of all corrupt Pakistani's, i.e. corrupt people in all quarter's of Pakistani ranks&people from political corridor's as well. GOD SPEED.

If proof of corruption already found then better to also arrest and send to jails and also recover money earned thru corruption. Mere suspensions would not deter others.

India should follow Pakistan COAS resolve to tackle corruption. A key benchmark of corruption is property deals. If cash is exchanged or sale numbers in govt books are underreported, it is a sign of massive corruption in entire nation. All corrupt money ends up in land. The more land deals are done in cash, the more corruption in the economy.

@Abdul The eight officers named above served with the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and have been charged for corruption during their service with the paramilitary force. The others dismissed were junior commission officers who worked with those named above, said the intelligence official.

Following the investigation conducted by Adjutant Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat on the orders of the army chief, the charged officers were asked to return all earnings accumulated through corruption, the official said, adding that all perks and privileges had been withdrawn from the officers except their pensions.

Gul Hasan Apr 21, 2016 07:34pm

Dismissal is okay, what about punishing them? Time has come to investigate current and former bureaucrats and punish them severely, this lot has caused more damage to Pakistan than politicians and generals. I know that a lot of bureaucrats belong to one province and they may not like to be investigated but if we are to survive we need to clean the corrupts from our society.

But we sincerely request you to go after the civil bureaucrats and politicians starting immediately and get all the looted money back from them and remove them from their posts and replace them with other clean people. If it is not done across the board, this menace will get worst in the civilian set up. Thank you Gen. Raheel Sharif for setting an example for political leaders to follow or face the wrath of the nation. Accountability across the board has now become a national demand and the political leadership has to respond to it or else pack up and go. Pakistan is determined to get rid of all corruption. The Govt should seize the clear and loud message coming from the people.

Salute to Gen. Raheel is in order. The menace of corruption is deep rooted in the society from politicians to average person on the street all are part of the problem. Corruption of 1 Rs is as bad as billions of Rs. Politicians are elected by the people, the question is why after so many stains on their names these guys are elected over and over again?

The very first example of its kind in Pakistan's history. The difference is loud and clear between leader and politician. I hope general R. It's a long shot in the darkness but still hoping our political arena follows this example. Great job General Sharif. God bless Pakistan.

Although the decision is commendable but they had been let go with practically no punishment. They need to be court martialed and sent to jail with no pension otherwise it is like do corruption and if got caught than just return the money and go free to do more corruption. This should not be the example to be set for politicians and other people.

Ahsan alizai Apr 21, 2016 08:46pm

Pakistani Apr 21, 2016 09:03pm

We need a person like him to lead Pakistan not a an elected PML-N or PPP. A democracy is a worst form of dictatorship if corrupt and dishonest. Pakistanis will be far better off with a dictator like Raheel Sharif than any other political leader at present.

Ahsan alizai Apr 21, 2016 09:04pm

As I was saying, Gen. Raheel comes from a family of Warriors and Shaheeds. His brother Shabbir was a personal dearest friend and we use to meet every evening in Gulberg Market for a chat. There I met Gen. Raheel a couple of times. I use to call him SHABBIR SHER SHAREEF-SHAEED. He was a lion standing up against the tough and caring for the weaker. What Gen. Raheel has done is beyond words. Keep it up Sir. DO NOT GIVE UP-AS I AM SURE DIVINE HELP AND GUIDANCE IS ALWAYS BACKING YOU. If he ever comes to Washington, it will be an honour to shake hands with you. Live long and prosper. Ahsan

Muhammad Amin Apr 21, 2016 09:09pm

COS has proved his mettle! "Across the board accountability" must also extend to the corrupt politicians and civil bureaucrats who have looted Pakistan without any shame.

Saulat Haider Apr 21, 2016 09:09pm

@Sachin Yes Sachin I agree with you. Regarding white collar corruption both countries are on the same page and has same cultures. In public sectors particularly in public funding projects, army and in government bureaucracy the corruption is very deep down and it is possible only if it is uprooted at the top. Hard decisions are to be made.

Suchbaath Apr 21, 2016 09:11pm

Two Shareef's in opposite direction on accountability issue.

Saeed Ahmed Khan Apr 21, 2016 09:11pm

Great decision, immaculate timing, one more brave decision required to uproot the menace of corruption in civilian government, please do not expect them to come forward as you did. They are morally corrupt, immensely shameless, insensitive, selfish and lie through their teeth, all politicians will join together to protect their corrupt system for their survival. Humble request please clean the system under your leadership and command, if you leave without completing the task, the nation will hold you responsible not securing the economical future of the people of Pakistan

Khuram Nisar Apr 21, 2016 09:12pm

I do appreciate today's news of forced retirement of twelve (or six) high profile army officers. Just to let you know that i do appreciate General Raheel Sharif's efforts and good work he has done for the nation.

But i am failed to understand, what is forced retirement? Is there any provision in the army act for forced retirement? I have heard of golden handshake & forced resignation but never heard of forced retirement.

Now what does this prove? Maj Gen XYZ may have looted 50 Crores, have two homes in Lahore & Islamabad and only one Farm House; can no longer call himself acting Major General but X-Major General? Shall he not receive the monthly salary but he can enjoy the pension?

Why haven't they been dismissed / fired? Why can they still enjoy retirement benefits? What has been done to get the money back? Where is the report of last two years investigation?

Again; i would like to say that I do laud General Raheel Sharif who have done tremendous job against terrorism...

Qasim Apr 21, 2016 09:14pm

A very bold first step but not enough. Will a mere removal of a corrupt politician would suffice? if not ;then these army officers would also need to be arrested and tried.

Shahid Hussain Apr 21, 2016 09:15pm

The step by COAS indicates sincerity of purpose on his part. History will preserve Gen Raheel as the one who tried his best to deal appropriately with those who had no holds barred in looting Pakistan.

Bin Adam Apr 21, 2016 09:17pm

He is the only Army General in Pakistan history having taken action against so many Army officers for corruption.

Rajesh_Indian Apr 21, 2016 09:17pm

Good Step Indian subcontinents should be free of corruptions. Leaders in In Indian subcontinent should learn from Bhutan. How honest they are. Leaders in India/Pakistan are dividing people in name of Religion, Caste, Creeds etc. and looting public money. Panama is latest example. If the region will be free of corruption then there is a chance of prolonged peace. May God bless Pakistan and India in becoming corruption free.

Ibrar Samon Apr 21, 2016 09:22pm

This is great step in order to ensure across the board accountability. The dismissal from duty is just the beginning. And only Army has done so, so far. The political parties have not even dismissed any of their corrupt members.

The greatest General of Pakistan (Raheel Sharif) who is not afraid to take action against anybody. The nation solutes you and the generations will remember your bravery and honesty.

Islamabad Calling Apr 21, 2016 10:02pm

General Sahab has done what he is suppose to do and I hope it is a start not one time. The big questions are: Whether Imran Khan, Bilawal, and of course Mian Sahab will follow the same path in their parties? Will CJ Jamali do the same in the judiciary? Will the IGPs rise to the occasion? Can we expect a weeding out in the bureaucracy? I know the answer but occasionally a day-dreaming a good for your health.

rehan Apr 21, 2016 10:11pm

A fine soldier and a true leader who led by example. Salute you Sir !

Abdul Khaliq Zehri Apr 21, 2016 10:56pm

It is a tremendous move and rather this step can be considered as a silent revolution in Pakistan because the corruption has badly destroyed the potency of state and its institutions. The poverty is increasing, and infrastructure of country cannot be improved due to prevalent corruption. The people of Pakistan were waiting for a strong person who could start a drive against corrupt and corruption. The foundations of Pakistan are being diluted badly by widespread corruption. Therefore, the corruption perception index of Pakistan was going up and international community had started considering Pakistan as a failed state. Even the international financial institutions such as IMF and World Bank had refused to give any financial aid to Pakistan because they think that it is wasteful to give any aid to the country. There are Billions of dollars deposited in the Swiss accounts that belongs to Pakistani politicians and buearucrats. All this money has been plundered. we love Gen. Raheal Shariff

tanweer Apr 21, 2016 11:04pm

@Abdul the army has the court martial process. Where the burden of proof required is less and justice is swift. The COAS and the army are clearing up the country of no go areas. Now we need accoutantability in the civilian government.

Parvez Apr 21, 2016 11:06pm

Lets hope the judiciary follows.....and the politicians as well.

rajesh Apr 21, 2016 11:11pm

I am so shocked to read this... Because I was believing the comments posted on this website regularly by almost all Pakistanis claiming that the Pakistan army were pure, patriotic and not corruptible.....

TruthOnly Apr 21, 2016 11:18pm

Highly appreciated.May he b able to command the truth in Pakistan at all levels!

Dinesh From Ludhiana Apr 21, 2016 11:38pm

@Zak What difference does it make? Get over. It is a good start for Pakistan. Give the guy the credit than questioning his motives.

Great start, General!

Hopefully, this is the start of the major cleanup and a clean process of accountability for military and civilian government. I just wish this anti-corruption drive is quickly implemented for politicians, police and judiciary.

nasr Apr 22, 2016 12:01am

Qamar Zaman Kaira of the PPP said it was time for the PM and his family to come clean regarding the Panama leaks" Mr. Kaira clean PPP house and its leader's house first.

Imran AB Apr 22, 2016 12:20am

Are these dismissed officers going to be punished or just sent home ?? If just sent home then this is a big joke , they should be punished .............

Great, much awaited, & much expected NEWS...for long time ...!!!

KhatarNak Apr 22, 2016 01:19am

God bless you General!!! You made a 50 years old cry like a baby. I'm handful of optimistic Pakistani who always believed that this nation will rise to its fullest potential as envisioned by jinnah, Iqbal and all the patriotic Pakistanis who gave their lives to this country. When a judge who is accused of corruption can change the direction of his institution just because he refused to bow down to pressure. Imagine what a General on a mission with a clear conscience and support of 200 million pakistanis can do? Sky is the limit! Go Shaheen Go Fly High!

sid Apr 22, 2016 01:33am

If they can be bought, then they can be bought buy the enemy too. Hence a very good decision. COAS leading by example. Politicians/Judiciary take note

A daring action taken by chief ,a good example for other who are responsible for state affairs, hope such actions taken in coming time will quickly improve the situation in right direction InnshaAllah M.Jamil Denmark

AXH Apr 22, 2016 02:29am

Honestly, there haven't been many good news I have heard coming out of Pakistan in the past many years and this is one of those rare ones. This is what leadership is about and this is how a leader leads from the front. There is now pressure on FIA, NAB and other investigating agencies to do their duty. The major problem, however is, if those departments are headed by honest people.

Omar Apr 22, 2016 02:33am

Why are the corrupt not arrested for trial and jail time? BTW, one man does not make an institution.

Pakistani Apr 22, 2016 02:53am

I salute you, hopefully, this will continue. We have suffered a lot and corruption has now become norm of society, we all know cleanup will not be over night, we are now sick and tired of these criminals leading us.

Malik Apr 22, 2016 03:02am

Great - COAS is doing a really good job.

Nawaz Sharif must be repenting his selection today. Bravo General.

Kodoo Apr 22, 2016 03:25am

Pls dont retire!

Riaz Uddin Apr 22, 2016 05:06am

Bravo!General Raheel, Good job! Especially when You started it by sweeping before your own door first.

But a lot of has to be done. Corrupt Legislative, Judiciary, Executive Branch and Bureaucracy deserve the same treatment as you have met out with your own Army officers including General

Under th law of necessity, Article 6 could not prevent an honest army officer to take over and purify Pakistan from corruption. This is right time to take a right step into a right direction. The nation is looking at you.

Applauds!

Mumtaz Ahmed Shah Apr 22, 2016 06:11am

syed Apr 22, 2016 07:23am

Naveed Iqbal Apr 22, 2016 08:52am

it is exemplary initiative by army chief. a positive message has gone to the world. the executive should also follow this and should do whatever it can in this connection.

Accountability for everyone? o_O Apr 22, 2016 08:57am

What about jail time for them??? Why you are giving pension to them??? In order to end corruption, one must set an example that can scare the hell out from others and that's the real purpose of Punishment. You punish the bad guys so no one dare to the same kind of act.

Abdul Apr 22, 2016 09:06am

Corrupt ppls must also be punished and all his property, bank balance should be seized, only dismissal from service is not sufficient.

Usman Niazi Apr 22, 2016 09:27am

What a true gentlemen he is

AYK Apr 22, 2016 10:41am

Leading by example our great hero Raheel shareef...Way to go general...we all love you....

Sajjad Khan Apr 22, 2016 12:01pm

Pakistan has no future if this mence is not eradicted and the masses educated instead.

Rana Saifuddin Apr 22, 2016 03:31pm

@Usman Bashir which civilian are you talking about there is no such law in this country the whole society to the government and everyone is corrupt, this the first time in the history of Pakistan Raheel Sharif has sacked such high ranking officers and we all should appreciate this action of his.

Abdul Karim Apr 22, 2016 03:32pm

Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif , entire Pakistani nation stands with you and salutes you. You have done a great job. Civilian government must also show similar accountability. President of Pakistan and Parliament must also take accountability of corrupt people in all walks of life including all top officials if found guilty.

Ather Apr 22, 2016 04:29pm

Tariq Apr 22, 2016 06:40pm

Masood Apr 22, 2016 08:24pm

General is doing excellent job for Pakistan. we shall extend his services for three more years which will help to get rid of lots of corrupt Member of parliament and others. All the Member of Parliament shall declare their assets before they stand for MP for election. If they donot declare their assets then they are not eligible to stand for election. End of the story

Furkan Awan Apr 23, 2016 01:58pm

finally justice is being served among the ranks of the army otherwise some were bringing bad names to the institution

Shaheen Apr 23, 2016 02:41pm

Air force and Navy chiefs need to follow the example of COAS too!

plain truth Apr 23, 2016 04:51pm

Shamshad A. Quraishi Apr 23, 2016 05:04pm
