MIAMI: A 21-year-old college student died and 67 other people were arrested over the weekend in Miami during one of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals, authorities said on Monday.

Authorities were investigating the circumstances the led to the death on Friday evening of Adam Levine, a University of Miami student, said Ray Martinez, head of security for the Ultra festival.

More than 165,000 people attended the three-day event, which brings together the best known electronic music performers in the world.

Martinez said festival security personnel noticed Levine was “having difficulties” and called in fire department medics.

“From what we have been told, paramedics initiated medical treatment and transported Adam to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Most unfortunately, Adam passed away at the hospital,” he said.

A Miami police spokesman told NBC 6 news that 67 people were arrested during the festival on a variety of charges.
