Gen Campbell meets army chief

RAWALPINDI: Outgoing Commander of Resolute Support Mission and US Forces in Afghanistan, Gen John F. Campbell, paid a farewell call to Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif here at the General Headquarters on Thursday.

The two reviewed the ongoing Afghan reconciliation process and discussed the way forward.

Gen Campbell paid rich tribute to the professionalism and achievements of Pakistan Army in Operation Zarb-i-Azb. He acknowledged the efforts of Pakistan Army for regional stability.

Gen Sharif thanked the outgoing US commander for his efforts towards stability in Afghanistan.

Gen Campbell laid a wreath at the Yadgar-i-Shuhada.
