KARACHI: The vice chancellor of Karachi University (KU) has been allowed to continue to work in his position till further orders, according to a notification issued late Monday evening by the secretariat of the Sindh governor, who is also the chancellor of public sector universities.

KU vice chancellor Prof Mohammad Qaiser was due to complete his two-year term on Feb 9.

The government recent move to advertise the vacancy in newspapers with Feb 15 as the closing date for the submission of applications earlier attracted criticism from the teaching community.
