SIALKOT: Up to 600 male and female CTI teachers have been terminated from job after the recruitment of their replacements through the Punjab Public Service Commission in the colleges of Gujranwala division.

According to officials, the Punjab government had appointed 1,000 CTI teachers in colleges on contract. Of them, 600 have been shown the door.

The officials said the remaining 400 would also be terminated from their jobs.

JUDICIAL REMAND: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) judge Chaudhry Imtiaz sent three people to jail on 11-day judicial remand in a case of attack on the Daska additional district and sessions court judge.

Police produced Iftikhar, Imran Haider and Waqas before the ATC judge in Gujranwala.

On Dec 14, 2015, the accused had shot at and injured judge Shahbaz Iqbal Tarar near BRB Daska Canal Bridge in the Daska city.

HELD: The Punjab Rangers and police arrested on Saturday six Afghan nationals in a search operation near the Sialkot Cadet College in Pasrur.

Senior police officials said Afghan nationals Muhammad Ameen, Akram Khan, Muhammad Faheem, Abdul Malik, Akbar Khan and Riaz Khan were arrested for illegal stay in Pakistan.

Police also seized Afghan SIMs and Iranian and Afghan currencies from them.
