TOBA TEK SINGH: On the call of the government departments, computer and data entry operators on Saturday staged a protest demonstration against the authorities for not revising their pay scales.

Addressing the demonstration, protesters’ representative Malik Babar Bashir said scales of clerical staff were revised recently but they had been ignored like they were ignored in 2007 when scales of clerks were revised.

He announced that if their demand was not accepted they would continue protest.

POLIO: The health department held a walk to raise awareness of polio from the health complex till Shahbaz Chowk.

It was led by MPA Amjad Ali Javed, District Coordination Officer Amer Ijaz Akbar, Executive District Officer health Dr Nawaz Ranjha and District Health Officer Dr Khalid.

Participants were carrying banners to create awareness among the citizens on the importance of vaccination to their children against polio.

The vaccination drive in city hospital was also launched by Amjad Ali Javed and Amer Ijaz Akbar by giving polio vaccine to the children.
