LARKANA: Police arrested three suspected robbers in a village in the early hours of Wednesday and seized stolen weapons and motorbikes.

Larkana SSP Kamran Nawaz Panjotha said at a press conference that the arrests came after the police were given a tip-off that the suspects were hiding in Faqeero Khakhrani village, within the remit of the Rasheed Wagan police station.

“The police, then, surrounded the village and carried out a search operation. The suspects began shooting at the policemen and during the gunfight arrested Rashid Khakhrani and Manzoor Khakhrani who were wanted in murder cases.”

Their accomplice Sono Khakhrani took shelter in a field covered with tall grass and continued shooting at the police, said the SSP.

“Sono was wounded during the heavy exchange of fire and he has been admitted to the Chandka Medical College Hospital for treatment,” he said.
