KARACHI: A toddler was killed and five huts were gutted in a fire in North Karachi on Monday.

Police and fire officials said that the fire broke out in a hut and spread to others outside a graveyard in Sector 7, killing two-year-old Zakaullah.

Two fire tenders took part in the fire-fighting operation. The five huts were gutted in the fire. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.

However, the police believed that the fire broke out when a family was preparing breakfast. They said that gravediggers lived in the huts.
