SIALKOT: All the 15 elected independent councillors in Daska joined the PML-N at a meeting presided over by MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah here on Sunday.

The stage is now set for PML-N to clinch the slots of chairman and vice-chairman of the Daska Municipal Committee after joining of the party by all independent councillors.

Daska’s PML-N president Muhammad Afzal Mansha welcomed the independents in the party.

Although all the winning independent candidates were denied tickets by the local PML-N leadership, they expressed full confidence in policies of the PML-N government.

The independents who joined the PML-N are Zafar Iqbal Dar, Mian Muzaffar Iqbal, Mirza Muhammad Yasir, Khwaja Atif Raza, Muhammad Ayub Butt, Javaid Iqbal Cheema, Asadullah Behgal, Muhammad Rafique Chohan, Chaudhry Waqas Bilal, Chaudhry Abid Ali, Mian Sadiq Mehar, Rana Mushtaq Ahmed, Chaudhry Gulfam Sahi and Ashfaq Ahmed Ansari.
