During checking of a suspicious pickup, the policemen recovered 96 kilograms of fine quality hashish hidden in its secret cavities. The alleged smuggler named Syed Kareem belonging to Khyber Agency was arrested.

The police registered a case and sent the man to prison on the court orders.

‘DENGUE CONTROLLED’: The medical superintendent of the KDA divisional hospital has claimed that dengue has been controlled in the district due to the precautionary measures taken by the administration.

In a statement on Sunday, he said since October the hospital had received 285 patients from Lachi, Garhi Risaldar and Ustarzai.

The administration pumped out standing water from pools in Lachi and carried out fumigation to eliminate the dengue larva there, he added. He said only six patients were admitted to the hospital who would be discharged within a few days after full recovery. He said no death was caused due to dengue.

The MS said they had received no dengue patient for the last three days, which showed that the disease had been controlled.
