LAHORE: Two Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers were killed and seven others were injured as a clash broke out between PTI and PML-N party workers in Lahore's Yakki Gate area early Monday.
The dead have been identified as Khurram Shehzad and Malik Arif. A minor is among those injured.
The PTI filed a First Information Report (FIR) for murder against seven PML-N workers including Chaudhry Zahid, Malik Ditta and Ahmed Butt.
The scuffle broke out after a disagreement between PTI and PML-N workers in the area near Nawaz Sharif Hospital, where both parties' offices are located.
Shots were fired as the clash between party members turned increasingly violent.
Police said they would start an investigation into the incident.
"Police have assured us that swift action will be taken against the perpetrators," Shafqat Mahmood of the PTI said.
PTI leaders Chaudhry Sarwar and Aleem Khan arrived at Mayo Hospital to show support for their workers.
A PTI office had been set up in the Yakki Gate area, after which the PML-N also set up an office close by.

Actually who cares?
Fact is some innocent individuals have lost their lives for no reason.
Whilst democracy and freedom of expression are vital for development, Pakistan is light years away from such an eventuality.
What I just cannot fathom is why people keep becoming party workers in Pakistan - it is not as if the party leaders/hierarchy value the lives of their workers.
I speak to a lot of Insaafians and N-Leaguers in the UK too. None of them have ever been able to explain to me what their party actually stands for - the simple answer I get is that 'PTI can't be as bad as PMLN' or that 'PMLN is better than PPP' etc.
And you would think that Pakistanis in UK might be slightly more educated than those in Pakistan villages that are part of the 'rent-a-mob' of these parties.
So with that logic, it is not surprising that parties have no shame in letting these people being sacrificed.

PTI infuse hatred, it's their Jiyalas like PPP who incite fights through loud and aggressive behaviours in their tone, they disrespect others who are against them and they portrays that's who ever vote for other parties are Patwaris, Jahils, Nahiri walas,

In this case General public looks stupid , why not some brothers , sons or near and dear ones of some PTI big wigs like Sarwar , imran , QURESHI or SHIDA TALLY haven't lost their lives . Or even they himself should sacrifice their own life for revolution or TSUNAMI why only general public have to lost their lives.

In my opinion it is our fault as a general publics why we go up to that level where our own life is in danger. Who will feed their family? Is it NS or is it IK? After a few days people will forget. Who will suffer? The family members, sons and daughters.
It is said and people will never learn any lesson from any incident.

@Hammad Haider visit the actual location and see what happened. Then when you find out that PTI had attacked the opposing sides office a week earlier starting a scuffle then, it would come to no surprise that that this is the same scenario. PTI spreads hate CLEARLY and attack women and people over lack of support for them or due to the fact that they support other political parties. These rabid tigers acting out and fighting over petty reasons like politics only end poorly. The tragedy is that we blame the politicians for our lack of self control and inability to walk away in the face of aggression. This fight solved absolutely nothing, no decrease in load shedding, food shortage, or improve the water supply. Politics and religion shouldn't be debated especially when maturity is at an all time low. I apologize if it seems callous but I hope the families will find solace and support in the coming days.

This is just utter none sense. I think that Mr. Imran Khan should look into this and stop his quest for defaming Mr. Nawaz Sharif. Please it is a humble request to you Mr. Khan to work with Mr. Sharif and his government. Next federal election is not far away and if you are right people will vote for you.

@Sahil yea they carried axes in Islamabad, plus they grievously injur instead. And then one of their workers gets killed for cheating on his wife, gets murdered by her, and Ch Sarwar (the same clown who says he doesn't speak without evidence IE NA122) claims its the doing of PMLN.

@Asad they didn't exactly send advance notice that the sharks and the jets are gonna be fighting under the bridge at 5, plus the manpower to quell a mob isn't exactly readily available in the police or even rescue 1122

@Omer If this confrontation is a consequence of hate perpetuated by PTI , then why are the deceased only from the PTI ? If the mortalities were due to gun shot injuries, does it not logically mean that the assailants were from the PMLN. How could PTI be complicit in this . By extension does it mean that PTI should develop strategies to defend itself?
The only recourse is to be tolerant of the other party, de-escalate tensions, develop political maturity and for PMLN to immediately disarm its hooligans.

@Pakistan I mean, we as PMLN voters think otherwise and level same sort of accusations on PTI and that's why don't vote for IK because we don't treat him as a pious person. I don't talk about this corruption because when we accuse PTI full of corrupt people in it like for example Aleem Khan about whom even some PTI leaders think is corrupt then PTI takes UTURN and say is PTI leaders are corrupt like Aleem khan then why not Govt. arrest him. But at the same time PTI level baseless accusations against full of foul and low level of language without any probe in the court of law now PMLN voters can take the same stance like what PTI and IK takes about its corrupt leaders,
In short my problem with PTI Jiyala politics that it is dgoistuc mindset which believe that only PTI and its voters are pious and rest are just corrupt and Patwaris
If PTI mindset points one figure then their are three fingers pointing out at it.

@Zia ur Rehman I fully condemn such crimes like murder. But I blame PTI's egoistic and self praise mindset which only think that it's the best from the rest and so have every right to abuse and make fun of other parties and their voters, as the root cause of such incidents.
In a democratic world difference of opinion has been excercised in Parliment and implemented through elections not by such hateful and egoistic selfpraised tactics which are full of low life and disrespectful talk which is part and parcel of PTI mindset
