LAHORE: Punjab Food Authority Director (Operations) Ms Ayesha Mumtaz says the Lahore High Court direction to the PFA not to upload pictures, videos etc related to action against eateries on Facebook will be followed.

“We have stopped this practice since issuance of the court orders on Thursday and will continue this till further orders,” Ms Mumtaz told Dawn on Friday. However, she said, the PFA teams in all nine towns of the Lahore city district would continue inspecting and penalizing the eateries, restaurants etc involved in flouting the hygiene standards and regulations, she added.

Talking about the capacity building, training of the PFA field teams, she said an expert from the UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) had arrived in Lahore who would train the authority officials on institutional development, expansion, inspection and other subjects.

“A two-day training workshop is scheduled to be held in coming days in which she and other officers (food safety officers) will participate,” she said.
