KARACHI: Fine batting from Umar Imtiaz and Abdul Saad enabled Royal CC to upset Landhi Gymkhana by six wickets in the opening fixture of the KCCA Commissioner Karachi Cup at the Landhi Gymkhana on Monday.

After restricting Landhi Gymkhana to 199 all out in 43.1 overs — with Arshad Khan contributing a robust 87 — Royal CC raced to 204-4 in the 42nd over.

Umar struck eight fours in making 73, while Saad made 63 with the aid of three fours and one six.

In another match played at the TMC Ground, New United Gymkhana defeated Liaquatabad Eaglets by six wickets. Summarised scores:
