GILGIT: The two-day Khunjerab Pamir cultural festival concluded in Gojal area of upper Hunza on Thursday.

The event was organised by local community in collaboration with the tourism department in Khunjerab area on Pakistan-China border with an aim to promote economic and cultural relations of both countries.

Gilgit-Baltistan ministers, officials and people, Chinese artists and foreign tourists participated in the festival.

Artists from both countries performed dances and cultural items and sang songs to the delight of participants.

First day of the festival took place at Khunjerab National Park, which is situated at the altitude of 15,000 feet. Stalls of traditional handicrafts and foods were also put up there. Second day of the event was held in Gojal area.

Khunjerab Village Organisation gifted a yak to the Chinese president. The gift was handed over to Chinese officials, who were in attendance.
