GUJRANWALA: The process to recruit at least 240 police constables for the protection of Chinese engineers working at the Nandipur power plant will be completed by August.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday, CPO Waqas Nazir said a special protection unit had been constituted for the protection of Chinese engineers but the recruitment process of constables was not initiated for some reasons.

He said the Punjab government had given an approval for the recruitment of constables and directed that security of Chinese engineers and workers at Nandipur power plant should be ensured.
