GUJRAT: The people of Gujrat have been facing an acute shortage of petrol for three days causing a great deal of inconvenience to motorists.

The authorities in the district government have failed to address the issue of petrol shortage.

The petrol stations in Gujrat and Jalalpur Jattan city areas and other branch roads have been closed for the last few days.

POST VACANT: The post of Gujrat tehsildar consolidation of land record has been lying vacant since long as the lone such tehsildar is posted in Gujranwala who holds the additional charge of all five other districts of the Gujranwala division.

The people of Gujrat have been facing a major problem in getting their property documents verified and rectified from the official record since long as they have to travel to Gujranwala along with a patwari of their respective patwar circle.

Currently, Sagheer Bajwa is the only tehsildar of the consolidation (Ishtamal) in the region who has to handle revenue-related matters of consolidation of six districts -- Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal and Hafizabad.
