Deuce complete double

KARACHI: Team Deuce completed a well-deserved double on Sunday evening when they earned 63.44 Victory Points (VPs) to win Karachi Bridge Association (KBA) weekend Bridge Tournament here at Aslam Bridge Hall.

Deuce enjoying the services of Abdul Muqeet, Wajahat Suri, Ziaullah Baig and Hussain Jaffer won their all the four rounds.

They thrashed GFQ 17.66, Masood beat 11.70, outplayed Kamran 16.91 and Sami 18.28, ending on top.

Deuce also won the team event title to make it two in a row.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s seniors Team Kamran comprising Kamran Ibrahim, Azher Hameed, Masood Mazhar and Zakir Mahmood had a good practice session. This team won three out of four rounds and finished second, followed by Sami having Akhtar Kemal Sami, Javed Rehman, Jawad Abedi and Mushtaq Mahmood.

In the pair event, 17 pairs in-form pair of Ziaullah Baig and Hamed Mohiuddin registered a convenient victory over other competitors.

Right from the half way mark, this pair reached the top, never to be challenged at any stage.

They scored 64.71 per cent to win the title of the week. Ahsan Zahir Rizvi-Anwer Kizilbash duo occupied second berth with a score of 57.88 followed by Azhar Hamed-Masood Mazhar pair (56.08 per cent).
