QUETTA: Former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Aslam Bhootani has criticised closure of small power plants in the province.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he claimed that people in several towns and cities of border districts and coastal areas had been deprived of electricity under a conspiracy.
Mr Bhootani said about 12 years ago a dictator established small power plants to provide relief to local people, but now a democratic government was depriving them of electricity supply.

He said the Pakistan State Oil had stopped providing diesel to small power houses because the Balochistan government and Water and Power Development Authority had failed to pay its outstanding dues.
He asked the provincial government and Wapda to pay dues to the PSO so that it could restore supply of diesel to small power plants.
He also urged the federal government to take steps to ensure payment of dues to the PSO.
