THATTA: A 12-year-old boy was slain in the oldest seminary of Sujawal on Friday morning causing panic among other students and people of the town.

The condition of the body suggested that someone butchered, Hidayatullah Sodho, in the early hours of the day and escaped. Some students present in the seminary, Madressah Hashemia, also claimed to have seen two masked men rushing out of the main gate moments before the boy was found killed.

However, the neighbours who rushed to the seminary to ascertain the matter after hearing a hue and cry by children, said they found the main gate “locked” when they tried to enter the madressah.

The Sujawal SSP visited the seminary shortly after the incident and got the locality cordoned off before collecting evidence from the crime scene. He also got statements of some teachers and students of the seminary recorded.

A post-mortem examination of the body was performed at the Sujawal District Headquarters Hospital.

An FIR against unknown killers was registered at the Sujawal police station.

It was the second incident of this nature in the district in recent months. In the previous incident, a seminary student had gone missing mysteriously and after several days his body was found dumped at a faraway place in Tando Mohammad Khan.
