ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Dubai on Wednesday to lead the Pakistani team in talks with the IMF mission for the seventh quarterly review of the Extended Fund Facility programme.

The Pakistani team comprising the governor of State Bank and officials of the finance ministry and other ministries is engaged in negotiations with the IMF mission headed by Herald Finger, since May 1.

The talks will conclude on Saturday, and it is expected that the two sides will reach staff-level understanding on a memorandum of economic and financial policies on the seventh quarterly review of the programme.

The IMF executive board is expected to meet next month to consider releasing the next tranche of over $500 million in support of Pakistan’s economic reform programme.
