LAHORE: Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Mahmoodur Rasheed has said his party will submit a condemnation resolution in the house against MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s provocative speech on Monday (today).
Speaking to different delegations at his office on Sunday, Mr Rasheed said the silence of PMl-N Punjab rulers over massive electricity loadshedding was criminal and they had lost their moral stand to continue holding the power in the province.
He said the Pakistan Army fighting against terrorism within the country needed mass public support. In such times, Altaf Hussain’s provocative speech against national institutions was tantamount to going against the country’s interest, he added.
He regretted the rulers “failed” to come forward to protect the sanctity of national institutions.
Meanwhile, PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry has strongly condemned the incident of throwing a farmer’s son into a burning field by a landlord at Sheikhupura.
“This incident is a slap on the face of rulers and it is time that the rulers should act quickly and dispense justice to the victim and his family,” he said.
