Natural resources

Published April 18, 2015

NATURAL resources are gifts and must be tapped for a nation’s progress. Our country badly needs foreign exchange to meet its various requirements, besides lessening IMF debts.

One good option is to tap all available natural resources consisting of oil, gas, coal, solar windmill, precious minerals, etc. We have trained manpower which can be employed in tapping natural resources .

The federal and provincial governments must be on one page before starting any project. I suggest this national campaign be monitored by the federal minister of petroleum and natural resources and representative of each province may also be included in the committee.

The periodic progress on each project must be evaluated. The federal government must also acquire the services of latest techniques to further accelerate progress.

Any hiccups, if confronted, must be referred to the HEC, PEC, PCSIR, PARC, Suparco, PCRET, AEDB, Geological Department, Pakistan Science Foundation and the Institute of Oceanography for assistance in resolving their problems.

We can succeed if we adopt a multi-pronged strategy in exploring natural resources.
