Ten of a family killed in Charsadda over refusal of marriage proposal

CHARSADDA: At least ten members of a family, including women and children, were killed by a man police are describing as a 'serial killer' in the Jendi area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Charsadda district on Sunday morning.
A Charsadda police official told DawnNews that the alleged culprit, Gul Ahmed Said, opened fire and killed Jamal, who was his paternal uncle and nine family members.
The police official said that the culprit was engaged to one of Jamal's daughters and that he had killed his own father and sister a few months ago.
The girl's family members, upon learning about the previous murders, had refused to give her hand in marriage.
The refusal provoked the culprit into killing the family, according to police sources.
Most of the victims were shot in their heads and faces.
Police registered a First Information report (FIR) against Gul Ahmed Said in Tangi police station.

Very very old story and history. The people of tribal areas do not believe in courts or panchayats. They settle their disputes by guns and they are happy with this traditions. Leave them alone.

indeed very sad to have 10 people get killed...but what's the other side to this story, yet to be found out. People blame the police or PTI for it....but they have nothing to do with this case. Unless someone report a crime, the Police can't take any action.

@Kamal Pasha- Charsada is not a tribal area , its outskirt of Peshawar,a very educated District,I think we should discuss it as a Pakistani citizen, lets leave behind those old theories Pathan tribal thing, things happens in Gujranwala , Chicha Watni, Karachi ,Questta, lets end these differences and prejudice toward nationalities. Pakistan is a beautiful country where all the provinces contribute equally, in the Military, natural resources ,and list goes on and on.
It makes me sad when i read those comments of my own countrymen who suppose to sympathize rather than posting comments on a specific community.

@Kamal Pasha. The incident didnt happen in Tribal Areas,it was the settled district Charsadda where police are enforcing law and order but couldnt apprehend the criminal who was roaming free.
