KARACHI: US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson said on Friday that an active dialogue was going on with Pakistan for handing over some of the defence equipment which had been under the use of allied forces in Afghanistan.
In reply to questions at a press briefing after holding an introductory session of the upcoming ‘Pak-US Business Opportunity’ conference being held on March 10-11 in Islamabad, the US envoy said that some vehicles had already been delivered to Pakistan and there were plans to hand over more.
Without disclosing their number, Mr Olson said that so far the US had delivered MRV (Repair Recovery Vehicles) vehicles.

About the country’s energy crisis, he said, “US is fully aware about energy challenges being faced by Pakistan.”
He said America’s focus was on energy projects, adding that 2,000MW of hydro and thermal power plants were being pursued.
In Sindh, he said, wind energy projects and oil and gas exploration projects were in progress which would help Pakistan overcome its energy crisis.
