LAHORE: Punjab University faculty members on Monday observed black day, wearing black armbands in protest against the abduction and torture of a faculty member allegedly by Islami Jamiat Tulaba activists.

PU teachers, Dr Abid Chaudhry, Dr Faheem Aftab, Dr Moqeet Javed and Dr Mahboob Husain, demanded the chief minister and inspector general of police should ensure arrest of the nominated suspects involved in the case.

The teachers also plan to hold a protest rally from Undergraduate block to Institute of Education and Research (IER) at 11am on Tuesday (today).
